Movie Review of A Thousand Words buy movie tickets regal

There was a time---many,dvd download tool, Lots of years ago---when placing Eddie Murphy in a movie was assured to equal a major box workplace return and a great deal of laughs. Lately, having said that, it is hit or miss, torrents of rain dvd downloads, and---let's be honest---quite a little additional miss than hit. Years right after the fact, I am nevertheless attempting to scrub the images of "Norbit" from my brain. However, I still come across myself holding out hope that he will redeem himself from the long list of stinkers that have plagued the theaters given that the mid '90's. And regardless of my ever present sarcasm, I am an optimist at heart, and chose to provide Mr. Murphy another shot at points by seeing his new film, "A Thousand Words".

THE Superior: Jack McCall (Murphy) is a massive time publishing agent who spends his days smooth talking prospective clientele, buy movies for kindle fire, although ignoring or belittling every person else in his life. His principal focus is himself, and he has no predicament saying whatever he requirements to as a way to close the deal. But Jack is about to meet Karma, movie downloads, inside the kind of a tree----a tree whose life is, inexplicably, tied to his own. When he speaks, buy movie tickets regal, leaves fall from the tree, and he soon realizes that when these leaves disappear, he along with the tree are both goners. What follows are semi-creative attempts to function in daily interactions (skilled, family members and public) without uttering a word. As expected, complications are abundant, and Jack realizes he has to locate a way to fix anything with as handful of words as you possibly can.
There is not a great deal to rave about in this film, but I've to admit I was over slightly impressed with the young actor who plays Jack's secretary/assistant, Aaron (Clark Duke). In those moments when Murphy is forced into silence, Duke shows promise with his "young Michael J. Fox-esque" awkwardness and voice. There may possibly be a future for this boy---although that may perhaps not be the case for Eddie.

THE Negative: I recognize the point that the writers were wanting to make with this idea, I definitely do. It's all about producing what we say really MATTER, and obtaining the words that enable other people greater than ourselves. The problem is that they weren't pretty clear about their moral till the last 15 minutes from the film. To be fair, to get a movie that had so tiny to give for just about its whole lifespan, I felt some genuine emotion towards the finish. It really is just a case of as well tiny too late. And, apart from the corniness of a magical tree sprouting up overnight within your yard, zapruder film download, the main dilemma together with the complete film is the fact that Eddie Murphy is SILENT through a fair portion of it. All of us realize that he might be hysterical and has delivered some pretty memorable lines in the past, but a physical comedian he isn't, so even with all of the crazy faces and sign language he attempts as a way to communicate, it fell flat devoid of his trademark sarcastic wit.....although I'm not positive even some nicely placed lines could have saved this one particular, unless Murphy could have applied those lines to create fun from the movie itself. That may possibly have already been fun.

THE UGLY: I suppose this next point is topic to debate, but it really is my individual opinion that the raunchy, albeit short, S & M scene between Jack and his wife was not integral to the plot with the film and was basically unneeded. It just added one more awkward moment of Murphy saying nothing. Axle Foley would have at least given us a witty comment about the leather underwear.

The bottom line is that "A Thousand Words" doesn't hit an all time low for Eddie Murphy---I think that ship may well have sailed with "Pluto Nash"---but it certainly is not his finest performance by a long shot either. The superior news is the fact that he doesn't attempt to play numerous characters---but 1 of his strongest talents is his mouthiness---take that away and it's an uncomfortable silence.

The Trophy Wife gives this movie 2 trophies.

A Thousand Words has a running time of 91 minutes and is rated PG-13 for sexual situations including dialogue, language and some drug-related humor. (F word employed once)
